Full Biography.

Jianzhi Wu is a pianist and educator currently pursuing a Master of Music in Piano Performance at New York University’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. She earned her Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Kansas, where she actively performed as a soloist and chamber musician. She has performed concertos by Grieg and Saint-Saëns and collaborated with wind, brass, string, and vocal musicians in various chamber music settings. Her repertoire spans a wide range of styles, with a particular focus on Romantic and Classical music.

Beyond performance, Ms. Wu is passionate about teaching. As a graduate adjunct piano faculty member and keyboard skills instructor at NYU, she provides individualized piano instruction and leads courses on keyboard techniques. Her teaching emphasizes technical development, musical expression, and historical understanding, helping students refine their artistry and build confidence in their playing. She is passionate about adapting her approach to each student’s needs, fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment that encourages exploration and creativity.

Ms. Wu has been recognized in several competitions, including the Kansas MTNA and KMTA competitions, and the Manolov International Music Competition. She has also participated in masterclasses with renowned pianists such as Chih-long Hu, Kristín Jónína Taylor, Carlo Guaitoli and Enrico Elisi. With a deep commitment to both performance and pedagogy, she continues to explore new methods to enhance piano education and inspire students in their musical journey.
